September 2020 – The Hypes

hype september 2020 cover imag

I often get the question what sort of tracks are currently being hyped. What kind of sound works right now, what is popular and what can we expect for the future? So I decided to list ten of the most popular and hyped tracks of that month, every month. By no means is this list complete, but it can give you some insight into where the popular music styles are headed. So let’s kick off – Ghost Producer NL – Hypes of the month September 2020.

1. Tiësto & Vintage Culture – Coffee (Give Me Something)

Tiesto ventures back into the world of the deeper house / progressive (trance) with help of Vintage Culture, and it’s a proper banger. Hypnotic vocals, entrancing synths and pads and a warm driving bassline. Loving it.

2. Ytram & Elderbrook – Fire

Melodic house / techno is definitely getting the hype on! This time it’s Martin Garrix under his alias ‘Ytram’ together with Elderbrook that brings the fire. Catchy vocals, rolling basslines and a very atmospheric moody vibe. Brilliant stuff.

3. KC Lights – Girl

Melodic tech-house from Toolroom Records. This is a one of a kind summer track by KC Lights. Amazing harmonies that are complemented by a warm soulful vocal.

4. Don Diablo – Mr. Brightside

You can always expect the Don to deliver something fresh and original. Feelgood melodic future house with an indie-rock vibe with it’s influences of Mr. Brightside by The Killers. We’re definitely feeling this one!

5. Josement – All Night Alone (Chris Lake Edit)

Anything Chris Lake touches turns to gold at the moment. Powerful tech-house with some mesmerizing synth-work and gloomy vocals, already picked up by DJs across the globe.

6. Nicky Romero – Toulouse (2020 Edit)

Yes! Nicky Romero is bringing back Toulouse for a fresh 2020 version. With it’s very recognizable melody in the breaks, but with a fresh and powerful new electro-house drop. This is a peak-time track!

7. Deniz Koyu & NØ SIGNE – Flavours

Another awesome track on STMPD. And it’s another Electro House banger! Some super original playful stuff here by Deniz Koyu and NØ SIGNE. Lots of weird FX, glitches, short fills and more fun stuff. This track stays fresh from start to finish.

8. Bob Marley – Sun Is Shining ft. Robin Schulz

It’s a bit unexpected to release this track this late in Summer as this is a typical summer track. Probably everybody (and their dogs and cats) will recognize this track. Legendary vocals by Bob Marley brought up to 2020 standards by Robin Schulz.

9. Juice WRLD & Marshmello – Come & Go

Poppy vibes, urban vocal and some typical Marshmello influences. This track has it all and it works! Not the typical commercial radio track but it does do really well, so it’s hitting all the right notes.

10. Clean Bandit and Mabel – Tick Tock (feat. 24kGoldn)

How to get your track to go viral? Write a track specifically aimed at a currently very popular social media app. This seems to be what was the though behind this track. Combine a super catchy pop track with an easy-to-remember dance, name the track after the app and wait for viral success!
